Frequently Asked Questions

Do you supply a written quote?

Yes.  Feel free to contact me with any job large or small and I will be happy to come and do a no obligation free quote.  I will visit the location of your project, discuss the requirements with you and take measurements before supplying a quote in writing.

Am I able to supply my own materials and you supply the labour only?

Yes. Within reason, we can work with material that you already have and we can recommend and/or provide specifications for materials once we have discussed the project with you.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes.  As a member of the Registered Master Builders I am able to offer guarantees.  Guarantees are dependent on the work you are having carried out.  Visit www.masterbuilder.org.nz for more information on their guarantees or feel free to discuss it with me at the time of quote/consultation.

Do you travel outside of Hamilton?

Yes. We service the greater Waikato region.  Travelling out of the Hamilton City boundary may incur travel costs however this will all be laid out in your initial quote.

What are your qualifications and experience?

Mike Bryant is trade qualified in carpentry and has been working in the building industry for 20 years. He is a registered Master Builder and a Licensed Building Practitioner.

Do I need to have plans drawn before I contact you?

If you have already had plans drawn for your project then I am more than happy to look over those with you and provide a quote to start the process.

If you don’t have plans drawn up we will work with you and an architect to put together a concept that fits your needs and budget.

Will I require Council consent?

It depends on the project you wish to carry out.  I can discuss this with you at the time of consultation/quote and advise if needed.

Once you’re happy with the quote we can arrange the building consents if needed. Getting consent can take a few weeks, so once that is lodged we can then schedule in your job, to give you a realistic time frame.
